overview

The Created For More Ministries Vocational Training Program is designed for young adults ages 14–25 who are ready to explore new opportunities, gain real‑world skills, and build confidence for the future. Many young people today feel unsure of their next steps—our program exists to change that. Through hands‑on learning, mentorship, and supportive community, students discover their strengths, develop practical abilities, and prepare for meaningful career pathways.

Beginning January 2026, CFMM—through a partnership with The Salvation Army of Joliet—is
offering two free, high‑impact vocational pathways: Next Gen Tech (IT) and Carpentry & Construction. These after‑school programs are completely free and open to young adults who
want to learn, grow, and explore new career possibilities. Each course runs for nine weeks and
meets once a week for a two‑hour, hands‑on session designed to engage students through
practical, project‑based learning. With small‑group instruction and personalized support,
students gain real‑world skills and complete the program with a Certificate of Completion that
strengthens their resumes and future opportunities.

Our mission is simple: To equip young adults with the skills, support, and experience they need to thrive - professionally and personally.

Carpentry & Construction Instructor

Joe siok

Next Gen Technology Facilitator

From age 18 to 31, I worked full‑time in residential construction, building new homes from the ground up and advancing from entry‑level laborer to foreman, where I led a crew of skilled crew members to complete full home builds and complex projects. During those years, I developed a broad skill set—remodeling, tree felling, landscaping, auto maintenance, roofing, painting, and more—becoming a true “jack of all trades.” That experience shaped my work ethic, strengthened my ability to collaborate with a team, and taught me the value of a hard day’s work. Today, I continue to rely on those skills, whether tackling personal projects, taking on side jobs, or supporting neighbors and friends with their own repairs and improvements.
